Hannah grinding wheat
Here is a really fun picture that was taken at my parent's house. My mom has a wheat grinder that she uses to make flour and it is very noisy. Here is Hannah with her ear protection. What a cautious girl. He he he.

Hannah gave a talk in primary!
Here is another picture from when Hannah turned three but I thought it was appropriate as I thought about how much she has grown in the last (almost) year. Today at church Hannah gave a tiny talk in front of all the kids in the primary (around 30)! We were sooo proud of her! The first two sundays she was very scared to go to primary, I sat with her for most of the first time, a little less the second time, and then today Jeff was able to leave after he got her seated. When the primary secretary called me to ask if Hannah would give a talk this Sunday I wanted to laugh out loud. Prior Sundays if they called on her she turned mute, and would only help with holding a picture if I went up with her. I said yes fully expecting to say the talk myself with Hannah holding pictures. Surprise surprise she went right up to the microphone and gave her little talk, sometimes with no prompting from me. Way to go Hannah!
An unexpected train
Props to Jason
I don't know where the word "props" originates but Jason deserves it for picking the super duper train track (as seen on left). Jacob is thrilled with it and the accompanying battery operated Thomas which he has found drives me and Jeff nuts when he lets it loose under the sofa. Pretty annoying to hear a little motor pushing against a wall while Jacob gives you a "pull it out so that I can shove it back under there" smile. The figure eight racecar track beside him is, according to Jacob, only for trains and certainly never for the racecars it came with. So after a few rounds of Thomas Under The Couch I like to play a little Can You Catch The Racecars.
More on the party
First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTIN!! I love you! Hope you had a really wonderful birthday. I have been having trouble finding time to blog because as soon as the kids see me on the computer Jacob comes over insisting on a visit to the Thomas website to play games and Hannah wants to decorate a virtual bedroom. So I pretty much have to do it when they are in bed if I want any peace. Here are the kids with the Thomas pinata, Jacob with his presents, and then the cake! Before his birthday party, if we asked Jacob "how old are you going to be?" or "who has a birthday coming up?" he would smile real big and just say "Thomas stuff!" (We had been to the party store and picked up some Thomas paraphenalia). After the party I asked him how he liked his party and he replied "two babas!"

Edventure!
Friday Mom and I took the kids to Edventure, a children's education musuem and play place. Here they are in the little Piggly Wiggly store. (Hannah's personal favorite). She was a shopping diva! She would shop, check out, restock, and repeat, and repeat, and repeat. She went to play in there three separate times. Jacob was fun to watch too as you could see him thinking about what he wanted to put in his cart. More about this day to come.
Playing outside
We were taking advantage of the not too cold weather last week. Jacob was not going to be without his trains and used the table as a track and the rice as cargo. Hannah was playing party, naturally.
Last marathon update: I have stress fractures in my legs and am very disappointed to say that the Myrtle Beach marathon is a no go since I can't run for 6-9 weeks. I will be excited to start running again once I am all healed and see if I can't get in shape for a December marathon.

Oh, yeah
More big news. Alright Nat, I held off for as long as I could so for those of you out there that don't know yet: Natalie is carrying a Brian Jr. Congratulations! When we talk to Hannah about it, she keeps thinking that the baby is already here and gets all excited to see him. Jacob is a little less enthusiatic. When I asked him if it would be fun for Nat to have a baby he simply said "no."
Next big news: Hannah is now a sunbeam! She has completed nursery at church and is now in the primary with all the other kids. The three and four year olds are called the sunbeams. She takes this to mean that she is now BIG! When she does something new she will say "because I am a sunbeam now." One day I had her try and open the car door by herself. Unsuccessful, she was quick to say: "but I am still a sunbeam."

Flash from the past
Here are some pictures from days gone past. Hannah's three year old birthday party and brand spankin' new Jacob. Recent news: we moved both the kids into one room so that the other room can be a play room. Hannah was wanting to share a room and I figured that they have to do it while they are little. Jacob also moved into a toddler bed and that has been very rocky. Fortunately Hannah is a very deep sleeper. I finally had a bone scan done because of my continued leg pain and the bone shows some damage. I haven't heard from the dr yet, but I don't think it is serious. Unfortunately the marathon is pretty much out for now. This is really disappointing but "Go for it Mom and Dad!" Hopefully things will be able to heal and I can try again this december. Love you all.
