I really should be sleeping

I got a new camera! Love it, Sleek little Canon that can take a timed shot (so I can be in it)! I haven't tried that yet. Finally installed the new software and so here are pictures. My friend Katy says that she blogs when she should be doing other things and I am the same way. Seeing as how it is 2:39 am and I am supposed to meet Jessica to run at 6, I really should be sleeping but I am not feeling tired so I am blogging. Finally. These are photos of Henry's first trip to the zoo. Nat and he coordinated their outfits. : ) Both my kids wanted to help Nat push the stroller.
He looks so big here!!!

Knowing that two good things (downloading photos, updating the blog) do not cancel out what I should be doing (sleeping) I decided to add one bad thing (eating a brownie). This evening Jeff had asked: Do we have anything sweet? which was funny because I had Heather (who is preggers) and her kids over for lunch and she had asked the same question (like totally verbatim) which is why there where not anymore nutty bars left. So Jeff made a box of my FAVORITE brownies when I am trying so hard to avoid that stuff and once it was all finished his hankering for sweets was gone. So there is a 9X12 pan minus one square (well, rectangle) of brownies sitting just fifteen stairs away from me. They have got to go.

Jacob

I can't find my camera so I don't have any new photos but here are some from a visit from Nana and Baba (we are SO excited to see you all for the 4th of July). My camera is about four years old now and it has slowed down and I believe that the lense has seen better days so I think I will talk to Jeff about getting a new one. I really really want one that has a timer so that I can be in more pictures.
Jacob is becoming so much more verbal and it is fun to hear what he has to say. One of my favorites is "Not it's not" which means no, it's not. Or "Not, his not" for No, you're not. When he is feeling grumpy his response will be "Nothing" regardless of the question. (Said in a rather belligerant tone). He is also an eavesdropper. If he is upstairs, playing in the loft, and we are downstairs talking he will chime in to the conversation as he sees fit.

The dentist and Father's day

I am not very good at waiting for things. Studious followers of our blog might have noticed that there are always pictures of Easter baskets being opened, Christmas presents being opened etc. a couple days before the actual event. (No such luck with Halloween, our neighbors are quite the sticklers). Well Father's day is this Sunday but the kids and I decided "Why wait? Let the festivities begin!" We wrapped up tiny Twix candy bars and put little notes on them about why the kids thought he was a great dad. Jacob came up with something that was rather original and unfit for posting. Hannah taped two of them to the door and hid the rest. Then we made pictures, more of which Hannah taped to the door.
Then Hannah dressed up in her princess clothes and dressed Jacob in a pair of fairy wings (we like to refer to him as Wing Man), I was placed on look out duty, we turned off the lights and yelled surprise when he came in. Fun stuff. Oh, also, Jacob went to his first dentist appt yesterday. In our rush to leave I forgot my camera but just picture Jacob with both hands covering his mouth. (I was actually impressed that he did so well)! Hannah's first visit I took only her, she did great so her next visit I brought them both and they both FREAKED OUT!!! The dentist is called wild smiles and there are fake animals all over. I had to grab one under each arm and carry them until we got to the adult side of the office. Hmm, I had to do the same thing at Chuckee cheese the other week. I think I will start calling that the Super Freak. But I digress. So the dentist was able to look at his teeth but we didn't push our luck. Fortunately that makes for a much cheaper visit so we met my Dad for lunch.

Fun pictures

Last week Chloe and Addison came over. Hannah and Chloe took turns taking silly pictures of each other. Here is Hannah.
Chloe.

I took this one but just wanted to show how old Jacob is looking!

Hannah pictures

It is fun to turn on the camera and find pictures that Hannah has taken.

Another conversation with Hannah

Me: Jacob, you need a diaper change! (A few minutes before, I had asked him if he was dirty and he said no. It had since become apparent that he did indeed need a change)
Hannah: Sometimes Jacob is a little Pocahontas
Me: A little Pocahontas? How is he a little Pocahontas?
Hannah: You know when you say something and something else happens
Me: What?
Hannah: Maybe that isn't the right word.
Me: Dishonest?
Hannah: That's what I meant!
Jeff laughing.

Tauni and Cat!!!

Another huge highlight for May was Tauni and Cat coming to visit! It was so much fun and the kids loved it. Of course Hannah had to get the croup at this time so we couldn't have the kids near Henry which made things tricky. Jeff was super sweet and watched them alot so that I could spend time with my sisters and mom!
When I was telling the kids that Aunt Tauni and Aunt Cat were coming to visit Jacob would always say: Kiki. (Natalie's cat). Didn't think much of it until they got here and Hannah was playing restaurant. (She writes down the names of everyone eating and then takes their order by putting the first letter of the food next to their name) She asks how to spell Kiki and then placed the menu in front of Cat. Apparently they both thought that was her REAL name. I miss ya'll so much.

Hannah's party

Hannah turned four! Her she is with her Cinderella pinata. The kids trying to eat donuts on strings.
